Pastor William Page      Faithful Example

Recently we said goodbye to Victor Harris as he needed to move back to Missouri to be with family. Victor came to our church two years ago and after only a few visits knew this is where the Lord wanted him. After becoming a member, he immediately began to attend Sunday School every week as well as Wednesday night prayer meeting. We saw him help out with ushering and lending a hand at the work parties. When VBS or other events were taking place, there was Victor offering any assistance he could. He said to me when he left, “It might be a little while before you see my request for a transfer of church membership. It may take some time before I get settled.” Victor lives something that he was taught when he was young – get connected with a church. Be faithful and serve. I am blessed by his example. Please pray for him. We will miss him.

By the way, did you catch what he said that last Sunday? He said that TRBC was the friendliest church he had ever been associated with. Can you believe that? I have no problem believing that TRBC is friendly but this is coming from a guy from the South - Louisiana no less. Don’t they have a corner on the market of friendliness and hospitality? Kudos to our church! That must mean we Northerners are not so cold and prickly as some might think!

On a different note, I hope you are blessed by our continuing study of the parables of Jesus. In the process of delving into these stories, I am reminded that God is at work in our lives. He is weaving a story, a faith journey story in each individual life. My hope is that we learn to be aware of His Sovereign guidance/leading and also that we get comfortable communicating that unique story to others. That is a story no one knows better than YOU!

So – What is God doing in your life? My suspicion is that your journey will be used by the Lord to inspire and encourage others’ journey.

What’s Your Story?
